Beginning day 3 of our Advent study of the book, "The Dawning of Indestructible Joy," by Dr. John Piper, we will look closely at a passage in Hebrews and dwell on the concept that God beckons us to draw near to Him.
Notice how Dr. Piper explains that Jesus intercedes for us in Luke 22:31-32. "Intercede" is just a fancy word for 'praying on behalf of another'. What an amazing thought! Jesus prays for us to our Heavenly Father!
Hebrews connects the dots for us. God calls us to draw near to Him, and the only way to do so is through the very same One who is interceding for us - Jesus Christ (see Hebrews 7:25).
As we think about today's reading, it is our prayer that we will come with joyful hearts to our Lord in prayer and thanksgiving for "working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ' (Hebrews 13:21).
See You In The Round!
