The world tells us a thousand times a day, in a million different ways how we should live our lives. It rejects us if we aren’t conforming to its standards.
Anything and everything that is counter-cultural is, and always will be, rejected.
Christians are called to be set apart from society, not to blend in!
World VS. God
The world says, "If someone hurts you, hurt them back. Eye for an eye."
God says, "Turn the other cheek; forgive everyone." (Matthew 5:39; Matthew 18:21-22)
The world says, "Ignorance is bliss."
God says, "Care for the widowed, orphaned, and poor. Don't pretend their existence is false.” (James 1:27)
The world says, "Wear as little material as possible when swimming."
God says, "Respect your bodies because I dwell in you. Don't cause your brothers in Christ to stumble." (Romans 12:1; Romans 14:13)
The world says, “Be self-sufficient.”
God says, “Rely on me to provide all you need. I’ll take care of you.” (Philippians 4:19)
The world says, “Strive to be as successful, rich, and happy as possible.”
God says, “You exist to serve me.” (Hebrews 13:5; 1 Samuel 12:24)
The world says, “Glorify yourself.”
God says, “Glorify me.” (1 Corinthians 10:31; Colossians 3:17)
The world says, “Seek to own the ‘latest and greatest’ products.”
God says, “Be content with what I have blessed you with.” (Hebrews 13:5; Philippians 4:11)

God says, “Seek my approval.” (Galatians 1:10)
The world says, “Not happy with your appearance, change it with drastic dieting, chemicals, and plastic surgery.”
God says, “I designed you in MY image and likeness. You are a masterpiece just as you are.” (Genesis 1:27; Ephesians 2:10)
The world says, “Indulge in as much alcohol as you desire.”
God says, “Do not be a drunkard.” (Ephesians 5:18)
The world says, "Marriage is temporary and fidelity is a choice."
God says, "Marriage is an eternal covenant." (Matthew 19:6)
The world says, "Having sex and watching pornography is what everyone does."
God says, "Lust and sexual immorality are sinful and dishonoring to me." (Matthew 5:27-30; 1 Corinthians 7:1)
Regardless of what the world tells you to do, I encourage you to cling to the truth of God's word. That means standing out in a crowd. By claiming "Christian" as your identity, you are signing up to be rejected, hated, judged, and condemned.
However, you are also signing up for the greatest hope, joy, comfort, and love possible.
We are called to be faithful to our Father. Our FIRST commandment is to love The Lord with ALL our heart, soul, mind, and strength. We are to love Him with everything in us.
I pray that we continue to fight against conforming to the patterns and norms that exist in the world. In turn, seek to glorify God in ALL that we do.
